Thriving Trusts Thinkpiece 6: Drawing on collective expertise, resource and support to become an employer of choice

It is well known that the success of any organisation is directly related to the capabilities, knowledge and engagement levels of the workforce. Becoming a thriving trust must include the development of a thriving workforce, and a clearly defined employer of choice strategy is central to that”
Thriving Trusts; Thinkpiece 6

Forum Strategy continues to publish its thinkpieces on the emerging concept of Thriving Trusts, with this, produced by Alice Gregson, being the sixth in the series. Through these thinkpieces we are seeking to explore, with the input of experts, each of the six principles – providing trust leaders with high quality thought leadership through which they can reflect upon the progress and development of different aspects of their trusts.

This sixth thinkpiece builds on the first five thinkpieces, exploring the fourth principle – namely, ‘the ability to draw on collective expertise, resource and support in order to be an employer of choice’. It focuses on the criticality of a thriving workforce to the overall concept of a thriving trust and focuses on how trusts can draw on collective expertise, resource and support to become employers of choice. Written by Forum Strategy’s CEO, Alice Gregson, who draws on almost two decades of experience within education and beyond, the paper delves into detail about what it means to be an employer of choice in modern times, how trusts can develop an effective strategy in this area and how all of this is inextricably linked to overall thriving as a trust.
