What are we learning from our Board development sessions across the country and how might this learning prove helpful for your trust? How can Boards help to develop, endorse and oversee an effective trust-wide approach to succession planning (including planning for but not limited to executive level roles)?
These questions and more will be explored within our termly Chairs of Trustees Seminar. Our seminar will consist of two parts:
– Michael Pain, Founder of Forum Strategy, will join us to share key themes emerging from his development work with trust Boards across the country. Michael will touch on the key challenges coming through from Boards and how they are working to address these challenges across their trusts, sharing pertinent learning that will be of interest to Chairs. We will include some discussion time to explore whether these themes resonate with Chairs attending this session.
– Alice Gregson, CEO of Forum Strategy, will then lead a session focused on the principles of effective succession planning. Alice will outline what research tells us about the important role of succession planning in cultivating organisational resilience and effectiveness and will outline the key principles for developing it successfully as a trust wide approach, endorsed by and overseen by the Board.
