This CEO network meeting will focus on the power of communities; with a particular focus on how we can build a greater sense of cohesion across the diverse communities we serve, including how we can proactively and positively engage with parents as part of this.  Given the fragmentation and divide across communities in recent months, this is a timely issue and a priority for so many, and we want to provide you with the highest quality thinking as you continue to support your children and young people and the wider community alongside. We’ll also consider how we can continue to support staff wellbeing, and consider some of the key developments in the sector – sharing insights, intelligence and ideas between experts and colleagues. 

This CEO network meeting will be Chaired by Sir Steve Lancashire and will involve:

– The opportunity to hear from Matthew Bolton as Executive Director of Citizens UK, who will reflect on the big societal shifts and challenges they are seeing across communities and how he sees these being addressed, particularly focusing on how this is impacting education and young people and outlining where trusts and schools can lead in bringing communities closer together. He will also share learning from his executive role leading a large community focused organisation, accountable to many hundreds of people up and down the country.

– The opportunity to hear from Jason Elsom, CEO of ParentKind, who will share some of the latest findings from their National Parent Survey 2024, with a particular focus around links to education. He will also offer some reflections on the growing rise in parental complaints, what is driving this, and how as CEOs, you can continue to develop approaches that engages parents as positively and proactively as possible

– A session from our partners at Schools Advisory Service (SAS) on the latest trends around staff wellbeing and it’s links to retention, considering how you, as CEOs, can continue to shape and drive cultures that fully support staff health and wellbeing

– Opportunities to hear about the current priorities and challenges of trust CEOs from right across the network, and to share with colleagues how you are responding to some of these issues too

– A reflection on the current and future priorities for you as CEOs. This session will be led by Alice Gregson, CEO, Forum Strategy.
