How can trust leaders better listen to the voices and perspectives pupils and students to ensure a strong sense of belonging and inclusion? And how can this support better levels of safety, behaviour, attendance and wellbeing among our young people?
In this special session for Forum Strategy members, we will be joined by doctoral researcher, Fellow of the Institute for Educational and Social Equity, and CEO of the Global Equality Collective (GEC), Nicole Ponsford, who will share her work in this area. This includes research based on the first three thousand student surveys results from the GEC Platform, offering a unique insight into pupils’ lived experiences of diversity, equality and inclusion in schools.
This session will touch on the key findings from the surveys across schools, linking this to other areas of strategic priority for trusts including safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and student wellbeing. We will reflect on specific implications for trust leaders from the research and discuss how this can support in shaping trust-level strategies around diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging for children and young people. As usual, we will also allow plenty of time for discussion across our networks.
Please note the GEC are part of a paid for partnership with Forum Strategy. When selecting our partners we do so with careful reference to their expertise and their ethos and values.
