Leadership safe spaces: How trust leaders can act as catalysts to bring diverse and different communities together

September 24 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Forum Strategy & the Global Equality Collective (GEC) are delighted to offer this series of online sessions to members of Forum Strategy’s national networks, offering safe spaces within which to talk openly about complex and sensitive topics. We are aware that national and international issues weigh heavily on trust leaders’ minds. You are keen to unpick and discuss how best to navigate these issues, providing the best possible support to your students and communities as you do so. Likewise, we also know that whilst some progress is being made in the equality, diversity and inclusion space, in many respects we still have a long way to go and as trust leaders, you are keen to explore this more. So, we offer these sessions as a safe space to discuss particular themes we know need further conversation and unpicking.

Each session will begin with some initial input to prompt reflection and thinking but the vast majority of the time will be open discussion time to discuss aspects that are most pressing for you or within which you would like some ideas from a trusted network to think through.

This session will focus on exploring how trust leaders can support community cohesion across the many diverse communities they serve. We will discuss some of the challenges that may come with this, ideas for addressing particular challenges and how a trust, at the very heart of it’s community, can become a catalyst for good. We will be joined at this session by Nic Ponsford (CEO & Founder of The GEC), Sam Vickers (CEO of Batley multi-academy trust) and Harmeet Sahota (Headteacher at Sikh Academies Trust) who will all share their experiences alongside trust leaders who choose to join us for this important session.

This event is open to all individual members of our CEO, COO and Education Executive networks. Please note you must be an individual member of Forum Strategy to attend – if you are struggling to attend personally and would like to nominate someone to attend in your place, please email us at admin@forumstrategy.org
