Working beyond boundaries – what are we learning about leading great SEND provision across trusts?

November 12 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

The leadership of SEND provision across trusts and schools is challenging, particularly when we consider the breakdown of support services across the SEND system and significant levels of underfunding. But as trust leaders, we need to ensure that whether we lead mainstream or specialist trusts, we are continually learning and reflecting upon what effective trust leadership looks like in relation to SEND provision.

This Autumn (2024), Forum Strategy Associate and SEND Specialist Natalie Packer and SEND Specialist David Bartram publish the book ‘Beyond Boundaries: Leading Great SEND Provision Across Trusts’ in which they share their learning from working with dozens of trusts and hundreds of schools up and down the country on leadership of their SEND provision. In this special breakfast briefing for Forum Strategy members, Natalie pulls out the key learning shared within the book and will outline a model of trust leadership (whether in mainstream or special settings) that can further support inclusion and puts effective SEND provision at it’s heart. Natalie will also open up the session to discussion with members so that attendees can share questions, reflections and ideas with her and with each other.
