Chairs of Trustees Termly Seminar

6 December 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm

It is crucial that Chairs of Trustees continue to access the latest insights, developments and updates from across the system – and invest time in their own ongoing professional development and we want to support this at Forum. All Chairs of Trustees whose CEO, COO and/or Education Executive is a member of Forum Strategy, are entitled to attend our termly complimentary seminars for Chairs.

This term’s event will focus on sharing the findings from our Being The CEO report 2023. We will draw out useful findings for Chairs and their Boards from the report, sharing the experiences of CEOs on a number of useful facets ranging from trust priorities and challenges, to current and future projected CEO skills and background, to CEO development and succession planning – all of which Boards have a significant role to play within. Graham Shaw, Consultant for Wrigleys Solicitors, also joins us to outline his thoughts on key findings and learning for Boards from the recently published report on the ESFA’s assurance work in 2022-23 (which included the review of academy trust financial statements, academy funding audits, financial management and governance reviews, the School Resource Management Self-Assessment Checklist (SRMSAC) and the Educational Recovery Grants). Within this, there were several findings relating back to trust governance which Graham will outline.

Please note Wrigleys are part of a paid for partnership with Forum Strategy. When selecting our partners we do so with careful reference to their expertise and their ethos and values.

This is an opportunity for Chairs to reflect on some of the latest sector thinking, to consider the role of the Board within this, and to share their perspectives with other Chairs from across the country. To access this online event, your Chair can use the following booking form below:
