National #TrustLeaders CEO Network

5 July 2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Ensuring that improvement at scale becomes a deeply embedded, trust-wide organisational habit, is an important part of the role of trust CEOs. Establishing the culture, capacity and systems in order to ensure continuous and effective improvement happens can be challenging – making sure improvement is delivered without directly delivering, instead establishing the right team and environment to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people, parents and communities and staff.

In our latest thriving trusts thinkpiece, Debbie Clinton, Forum Strategy Associate and former CEO and HMI, delves into the importance of this work as a core part of the development of a thriving trust and explores some important considerations for trust leaders striving to create and maintain a deeply embedded culture of improvement at scale. Debbie joins us for our next national #TrustLeaders CEO network to explore some of the key elements to the thinkpiece in much more detail and to join a conversation with you as a network, as to what this means across your trusts and in your particular contexts. This is an important topic of discussion for the sector as we continue to consider what a thriving, flourishing, inclusive environment looks and feels like for pupils, staff and communities.

We will also hear from Siobhan MeliaCEO of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust,  who – as an experienced Chief Executive – will give her thoughts on how to succeed and thrive in the role, especially when working at scale and across geographical distance; her reflections and tips on current strategic priorities for executive leaders that are facing all organisations; and her advice on leading a thriving, inclusive organisation that puts those who access services at its heart. The session will be guided by Network Chair, Sir Steve Lancashire – drawing on his experience as former CEO of one of the country’s largest trusts. Our partners at The Key, will also join us for this session, to provide important headline findings from our recent joint follow up survey, exploring the impact of the cost of living crisis and how trusts are navigating these ever challenging times. We will provide up to the minute strategic insight; reflection; discussion and the opportunity to connect with peer CEOs – all guided by expert CEOs and thinkers. In this session we want to give you the space and support to reflect on how you approach these changing times.
