Job Description

The Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Academy Trust is looking for a new strategic leader to lead our Trust at a time of exciting change and challenge.

Currently, the Trust consists of four academies: one secondary and three primary schools, with a combined total of 1,900 children in our schools. The Trust’s budget is just under £10m. All four schools are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’. All are ‘Outstanding’ schools in their most recent Catholic Schools’ Inspections.

We are a family of schools who are united by the teachings of Jesus Christ: to love, learn and achieve. Our Trust strives to be a Catholic community in which Catholic social teaching is at the forefront of what we do. The Christian principles of love, care and respect are valued. We commit to deliver the best education for all our pupils and by providing the necessary support, we will ensure each reach the dignity of their full potential.

As we embark on the next stage of our development, and as further schools have expressed an interest in joining the Trust, the Directors recognise that there is a need to evolve and strengthen.

In addition, the Trust has recently been approved by the RSC as an academy sponsor and is about to welcome another primary school into our portfolio, in early 2022. This is an exciting step, as it is a real and tangible sign of us delivering on our Catholic vision and educational aspirations for the children and young people, we are so proud to support.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and ambitious Trust and to lead the shaping of an exemplar management model within education. The Trust is facing exciting change, and you will build on our current strengths and embed best practice across the Trust.

An essential aspect of the role involves being at the forefront of protecting, securing and improving Catholic education. It’s about supporting school leaders to lead their schools, in a framework and culture where excellence in Catholic education can be achieved.

We need a practising Catholic leader who is:

  • Able to develop the Catholic character of the Trust and the academies within it.
  • Able to inspire and empower others to join the Trust.
  • Committed to continual improvement, can lead the Trust in its growth strategy and has proven operational and strategic leadership and management experience.
  • Able to undertake the statutory responsibilities of the trust accounting officer.

In return we can offer you a rewarding future in a friendly and supportive environment, within a team of dedicated and talented staff who are committed to providing an outstanding Catholic education to all the young people in our care.
