The Kenton Schools Academy Trust is a growing Trust in the North East of England. Our eyes are firmly fixed on providing the best education possible for young people in our city, our region and nationally. Every day we have the opportunity to work with students from a range of different and diverse backgrounds, and to provide a dynamic approach to learning.
Our Trust comprises two academies based in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our large academy, Kenton School, is one of the largest schools in the north of England, with 2010 places, including 300 in the Sixth Form. Our innovative studio school, Studio West, is the first 11 to 19 studio school in the UK and offers a dynamic approach to learning; education is taken out of the classroom, with students learning in the real world through working in teams on projects designed to reflect real-life situations.
As an experienced and inspiring leader, the CEO will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust establishes itself as a provider of high quality education. They will continue to establish the Trust in its next phase of development, and lead the development of the Trust’s vision, strategy and business plan.
The CEO will be accountable to the Trust Board for school improvement and the performance of all academies.
As well as being a qualified and experienced professional, the successful candidate will be a respected, effective leader, able to demonstrate the ability to successfully motivate and develop teams, and lead and implement change. They will have strong finance acumen, combined with the interpersonal, negotiation, influencing skills and professional credibility to positively engage all school stakeholders.
As the public face of the Trust, excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential. The post holder will also posses values that align with our core Trust aim of ensuring that all students across our schools achieve their potential, whatever their barriers, background, social status, gift or need.
